Most people expected the Los Angeles Lakers to fall to the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.

Not only are the Celtics the best team in the NBA, but the Lakers were without both LeBron James and Anthony Davis due to injuries.

But the Lakers surprised many by claiming a 114-105 win.

On Friday’s episode of “Undisputed,” Michael Irvin encouraged the Lakers to continue playing exactly like they did during Thursday’s game.

“Do that, and now let us add these stars to that and you got a chance at doing something” Irvin said.

The Lakers’ box score was crowded with stars who played their hearts out against Boston.

Austin Reaves led them all, scoring 32 points and going 7-of-10 from the three-point line.

Meanwhile, both D’Angelo Russell and Jaxson Hayes scored 16 points, with Hayes earning a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Rui Hachimura, Taurean Prince, and Jarred Vanderbilt also scored in double-digits for the evening.

The absence of James and Davis could have been a devastating blow for the Lakers but the rest of the roster used it as a motivation to play even better and prove what they are capable of.

The Celtics definitely helped them out a bit, however, with Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and Jaylen Brown all failing to score in double-digits.

LA really needed Thursday night’s win after a pair of very disappointing losses.

Now they need to continue playing as they did on Thursday if they wish to climb above .500 and be in a better position before the All-Star break.

They have to face the very difficult New York Knicks on Saturday night, followed by the Charlotte Hornets on Monday.

Monday’s game happens to be LA’s last before the trade deadline, when the roster could experience some substantial changes.
