The Pittsburgh Steelers managed to make the playoffs again.

Death, taxes, and Mike Tomlin not having a losing season.

Then again, it seems like the fans are demanding a lot from a team that was used to being on the mountaintop and that has failed to win a playoff game in the past seven years.

That’s why there have been some rumblings and rumors about Tomlin reportedly taking some time off at the end of the season, perhaps even a sabbatical.

Nonetheless, NFL legend Michael Irvin isn’t buying that narrative right now.

In the latest edition of “Undisputed,” the legendary wide receiver stated that that’s just not the way he deals with things, arguing that Tomlin usually runs towards things, not from them.

He acknowledges that there has been some talk about his continuity in charge of the team, which is also mind-boggling, considering the fact that he’s one of the greatest coaches to ever do it.

The Steelers need Tomlin there.

They wouldn’t have made the playoffs without him, and they just don’t have the talent to compete at the highest level without his defense and tactics.

Tomlin is a strong-minded coach who has earned respect, praise, and recognition from all his colleagues, and while he has every single right to feel exhausted and in need of some time to decompress, it just doesn’t seem on-brand with him.

Even so, we’ll have to keep an eye on Pittsburgh and what happens after their season is over, something that could happen as early as Sunday.
