The rich usually get richer, and the Baltimore Ravens are wealthy.
John Harbaugh’s team revamped an already dominant rushing game by signing veteran RB Dalvin Cook, who was recently released by the New York Jets.
This is far from a surprise, as the Ravens have always been a run-heavy team, and they want to leave no stone unturned or spare no expense on their potential trip to the Super Bowl.
However, as solid as this move might look on paper, former Dallas Cowboys star Michael Irvin believes it was actually a bad decision by the veteran running back.
“I think it’s more of a mistake on Dalvin Cook’s part. Dallas’ rushing attack is ranked 14th, while the Ravens already rank first. If you’re trying to tell people that you’re still valuable, then it’s about the impact that you will have in the playoffs to the team that you are going to,” Irvin said.

Talking on Undisputed, Irvin explained that the Ravens already have the best running attack in the league, so it’s not like he can lift them any higher.
Irvin believes that if Cook wanted to prove himself and demonstrate that he still had something left in the tank, he should’ve signed with the Cowboys, a team that has struggled to move the chains on the ground all season long.
He does acknowledge the fact that this deal was most likely made beforehand, and that’s why the Jets agreed to release him in the first place.
Nonetheless, it’s not like Cook could’ve chosen the Cowboys and didn’t.
Jerry Jones never showed any sign of being interested in making a run at him in the first place, and there was never a report about a legitimate interest in his services.
As a Cowboys legend, it’s natural to see Irvin always focused on his former team, but the entire league doesn’t revolve around Arlington.
