The Western Conference semifinals have not disappointed as the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves in arguably the best series of the 2024 NBA playoffs so far.
After Minnesota took the first two games of the series, Denver responded by reeling off three consecutive wins and setting themselves up to advance prior to Game 6.
However, the Timberwolves were more than ready to meet the challenge and save their season as they boat-raced the Nuggets to the tune of a 45-point win that forced a Game 7.
It’s been an exciting and tense series as the two teams have battled hard on both ends of the floor, though the defending champions have the advantage of being at home for Game 7.
Jamal Murray has been the swing piece in the series for Denver as he’s had to battle through a calf strain he suffered in the first round against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ahead of Game 7, head coach Michael Malone shared a positive update regarding Murray’s health, via Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports.
“Michael Malone just now at practice on Jamal Murray: ‘He feels great. He was able to go through all of practice,’” Wind reported.

Calf injuries are tricky as they are easy to aggravate, but in Murray’s case he’s done well to keep himself available.
There have definitely been instances where it looks like Murray isn’t completely healthy as he’ll either settle for jumpers or not be able to get the normal amount of lift on floaters and layups.
If the star guard’s truly feeling better, then the Nuggets will have a much better chance of getting back to the Western Conference Finals.
