The Brooklyn Nets have gone through a lot of changes over the past decade or so.
From Deron Williams to D’Angelo Russell to Kyrie Irving to Ben Simmons, it’s been hard to keep up with this organization, and its persistent desire and tendency to blow things up and start from scratch.
That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to see that they could be tangled up in negotiations and trade talks to acquire Damian Lillard.

Bridges arrived in Brooklyn midseason as the centerpiece of the Kevin Durant trade, and the early results were very encouraging.
He embraced a bigger role offensively and was way more aggressive as a scorer, and we already knew what he was capable of doing on the defensive end of the floor.
The Houston Rockets pretty much control the Nets’ draft next offseason, so there’s literally no incentive for them to try and tank next season.
But with Lillard reportedly adamant about playing for the Miami Heat and the Miami Heat only, there’s no point in trying to trade for him knowing that he’s not going to be happy there, especially considering they have been through more than enough drama regarding disgruntled star players already.
