Although the New York Jets managed to beat the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, the night was ruined from the jump when Aaron Rodgers exited the game with an injury on the first series.
The initial report was that the Jets feared it was an Achilles injury and it later was confirmed that Rodgers did indeed rupture his Achilles and would be forced to miss the remainder of the 2023 NFL season.
It’s a devastating blow to New York who had high hopes coming into the season as Rodgers was believed to be the missing piece to carry them over the hump.
Robert Saleh said that Zach Wilson, who filled in for Rodgers, would be the starter going forward though he doesn’t inspire much confidence at the position.
The Jets will likely be looking at veteran options to help Wilson and the quarterback room and some interesting names have been thrown out.
A popular name has been Tom Brady though people like Mike Greenberg aren’t buying him returning to an NFL field any time soon via Get Up.
“I would put the chances of Tom Brady wanting to do that as close to zero as a number could possibly be,” Greenberg said.

Brady retired for a second time this past offseason and all indications are that he’s serious about not playing anymore.
Although Brady coming back to save New York’s season would make for a fantastic story, fans will have to come to grips with the sobering reality that their dream of a Super Bowl will likely have to wait.
