Mike Greenberg is one of the most accomplished sports writers and show hosts in the business.
The 57-year-old and current host of ESPN’s Get Up on weekday mornings has worked at the network since 1996 after he left his role as a sports reporter in Chicago.
Now, Greenberg reportedly has an even bigger role coming at ESPN.
According to Front Office Sports, Greenberg will be taking over as the new host of Sunday NFL Countdown after the network made the decision to part ways with former host Sam Ponder.

When the show returns on September 8th, the Northwestern alum in Greenberg will sit at the desk alongside former Pro Bowl quarterback Alex Smith, former Super Bowl champion linebacker Teddy Bruschi, former head coach Rex Ryan, as well as insider Adam Schefter.
A diehard New York Jets fan, Greenberg will be taking over one of the most popular pregame shows in the business before fans get to witness possibly one of the most intriguing seasons in the history of the NFL.
While teams such as the world champion Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers are set up for success, there are plenty of teams that are filled with intrigue.
Greenberg’s New York Jets, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Philadelphia Eagles are teams that could be good but no one knows for sure.
One thing that is more of a certainty is the quality reporting and storytelling that fans could see as Greenberg takes over as host of Sunday NFL Countdown this Fall.
