Mike Greenberg Makes A Bold Prediction About Anthony Edwards

The Minnesota Timberwolves might not be able to get back and win this series, but this season is hardly a failure.

If anything, Chris Finch’s team proved to be significantly better than it was last season, which is what you would expect from a team trying to become a contender.

Late-game execution, some questionable coaching decisions, and two of their three star players struggling — again — have stood in their way to success.

Also, you can make a case for this matchup not being particularly favorable to their roster.

Whatever the case, it looks like it’s just a matter of time before Anthony Edwards takes over and becomes the best player on Earth.

With that in mind, ESPN anchor Mike Greenberg predicted that Edwards would win the most NBA championships among young players currently in the league.

“Over the next ten years, the guy I think will win more championships than any of them, is Anthony Edwards. … He is the heir to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.”

Talking on “Get Up,” he stated that he’s Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant’s heir, mainly because he’s not actively trying to be like them; it just comes naturally to him.

Greenberg also praised Edwards for the fact that he’s getting the job done on both ends of the floor, unlike most young stars in today’s defenseless game.

Edwards most definitely has a strong case to be the face of the league and maybe even the best player on Earth, but he’s just getting started.

He’s 22 years old and has a bright future ahead of him, but perhaps it would be wiser to let him be and not keep comparing him to the greatest player of all time until he proves to be worthy of that discussion.
