One thing seems inevitable at this point in time when it comes to the quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft, and that is USC superstar Caleb Williams will be the No. 1 overall pick for the Chicago Bears.

After Williams is off the board with the top pick, barring a major shock, it starts to get interesting at the quarterback position, with seemingly two quarterbacks in the conversation for the Washington Commanders at No. 2 overall, which are Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels.

It remains to be seen what the Commanders do at No. 2, but the consensus is they’ll go with either Maye or Daniels, which is a stance that could change with more than six weeks left until draft day on April 25.

Although Williams, Maye, and Daniels appear to be the top-three quarterbacks in the draft right now, J.J. McCarthy out of the University of Michigan is starting to make some noise as a player that could go much higher than anticipated.

Mike Greenberg of ESPN believes that McCarthy will not still be on the board when the No. 6 overall pick rolls around, which is owned by the New York Giants, via ESPN Radio.

“I’m telling you right now, J.J. McCarthy is not going to get past five in this draft,” Greenberg said. “The direction this thing is going, you can just see it and feel it.”

This is an interesting development because it seems like no one knows where McCarthy might end up, as he could even potentially fall out of the first round entirely.

McCarthy seems to be this year’s Will Levis, where his draft position is unpredictable as many could see him taken early in the draft or even falling to the second round.
