For years, NBA players and pundits have talked about reducing the schedule.
Even though the league has had 82-game seasons for many years, they claim 82 games is too much for a player.
That’s the case with Mike Greenberg and Jay Williams, who recently stated they had never seen so many injuries in the playoffs as we’ve seen nowadays.
In the latest edition of ESPN’s Get Up, Williams claimed that even though today’s game is less physical, the pace is higher.

Sports medicine and sports science have also come a long way since the good old days.
Of course, being an NBA player is no easy task, and it’s not our place to judge those elite athletes from the comfort of our homes.
They put their bodies through a lot, and they endure way more than the average human being could ever.
However, things have been this way since the dawn of basketball, and guys have still managed to play for 15+ years, and it’s not like they’re struggling to make ends meet.
There are millions of basketball players on Earth, and the NBA hangs it’s hat on featuring the best of the best, the creme of the crop.
So, if some players aren’t willing to play 82 games, they could definitely find dozens that would gladly do so.
