Around the NFL Draft, the only agent news that tends to come up has to do with either contract negotiations for current NFL players or maybe a possible situation where an agent is trying to get his prospect drafted by the team that he wants.
Very rare is it that the NFL universe learns about a coach hiring a new agent just days before they are on the clock.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has reportedly hired a new agent in Don Yee, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

As Schefter notes, Yee represents some of the NFL’s biggest names, including Sean Payton, Jim Harbaugh, and Tom Brady.
Perhaps McCarthy is gearing up for whatever comes down the pipe at the end of the season.
He was brought to Dallas to bring a Super Bowl back to Jerry World.
So far, he has kept the Cowboys in contention with three consecutive 12-win seasons.
However, he is just 1-3 in the playoffs since becoming the head coach.
If the former Super Bowl winner has a similar regular season in 2024 but ends up faltering in the playoffs again, he might be looking for a new gig somewhere else.
Remember, Jerry Jones, 81, probably isn’t the most patient guy in the world.
After winning three Super Bowls in the 90s, Jones’s franchise hasn’t even gotten to the NFC Championship Game in what feels like forever.
So, McCarthy has his work cut out for him this season.
Just in case the season doesn’t go as planned, he now has a great representative in Don Yee.
