With Justin Jefferson getting a historic contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings, the rest of the league is officially on the clock.
The likes of CeeDee Lamb and Ja’Marr Chase should be next in line, but the Miami Dolphins could also be forced to make a decision about Tyreek Hill.
Hill has repeatedly stated that he intends and wants to retire as a member of the Dolphins organization.
That’s why, upon this news, a potential contract extension seems back on the table.
With that in mind, HC Mike McDaniel claimed that he was happy to see Hill and other players face-to-face and in attendance at OTAs, although he did reveal that Hill wouldn’t participate in team drills during practice (via Adam Beasley).

He also talked about how he and Hill had a great relationship and that they “stay in their lane,” adding that the organization will always do right by the players.
McDaniel stated that Hill has been of tremendous importance for his coaching career and for the team, advocating for him to say there for the long run.
Hill is currently in the second season of a four-year, $120 million contract extension he signed in 2022 after being traded by the Kansas City Chiefs, being the highest-paid wider receiver at the time.
He’s going to make a whopping $45 million in base salary with a $56.3 million cap hit in the final year of his contract, so chances are he’s going to have a restructured deal with an extension at some point.
Hill is going to make $19.8 million next season, which looks like a bargain after Jefferson’s deal.
