The Miami Dolphins already had a dominant and explosive offense, but they needed a playmaker on the other side of the field as well.

And while he wasn’t on the field to make an impact in-game right away, star CB Jalen Ramsey proved to be that guy even before he was cleared to play.

Recently, HC Mike McDaniel admitted that Ramsey was one of his favorite players of all time.

But more than that, he lauded him for the positive impact he had by staying so close to the team despite being injured, serving as a leader, and making sure to keep the team motivated despite his absence.

“I can’t say enough good things about that guy,” McDaniel said. “When I tell you, never in my career have I seen someone with a months, not weeks, injury, be as involved in a team. Mind you, he had two practices under his belt with this team. To have two practices and have the wherewithal to understand your impact on people and how your injury — I mean our team was in the tank until he talked to the team. He explained, ‘Hey, I’m going to do this.’ And then he did it each and every day.”

Even before returning to the field, Jalen Ramsey quickly made an impact on the Dolphins. “I can’t say enough good things about that guy. He’s one of my top three favorite players of all time,” says head coach Mike McDaniel.https://t.co/ZnRO3rZ0xm pic.twitter.com/CYROlwGMUs

Notably, he’s made big strides for his new team almost right away.

He had two picks in Week 11, earning Player of the Week honors.

The Dolphins traded for Ramsey back in March, but he suffered a meniscus injury during training camp.

Even so, he was always confident in his ability to come back sooner rather than later and be as good as always.

He also honored his status as a beloved and respected veteran in the league by leading by example and making sure to stay close to his teammates through thick and thin.

In just three games with his new team, he’s already logged three pass breakups, six tackles, and three interceptions, proving that he’s still one of the best defensive backs in the league by a significant margin, and giving the team a strong presence they needed on and off the field.
