It didn’t take long before the Miami Dolphins faced the consequences of their latest signing.

Making a run at Odell Beckham Jr. sounded great on paper, but it came with plenty of risk.

Now, the former star is already on the shelf.

According to HC Mike McDaniel, the 30-year-old wide receiver is currently nursing an injury and working on his own (via Omar Kelly).

He added that the team would take things slowly and patiently with him throughout the entire season.

Of course, it’s not like the Dolphins were counting on OBJ to be their main guy.

He’s a luxury, not a need, and if he can give them something, then they would be even more dominant.

There’s no denying that Beckham is one of the most athletic and talented wide receivers in recent history.

Unfortunately, he just hasn’t been able to stay on the field, struggling with countless ailments throughout the course of the years.

Still, the Dolphins don’t actually need him to start the season, so they’re doing the right thing by not overworking him or risking further injury.

They just need him to ramp things up and get his legs under him midway through the season and for a postseason run.

Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle should open up plenty of space for him to work his magic as well, but he has to be actually on the field to do so.

If not, at least they didn’t sign him to a big contract.
