The Los Angeles Angels made an early statement this past weekend against the Oakland Athletics to start the season, winning two out of three and getting off to a solid start on the heels of a difficult 2022 season.
The Halos are now 2-1 after beginning the season with a series win.
And on Sunday, their dynamic duo of sluggers came through in a key spot.
Mike Trout hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth to extend the Angels lead to 5-0.
One pitch later, two-way star Shohei Ohtani followed with a home run of his own to make it a 6-0 game.
Los Angeles held onto the lead and secured a series win.
The video of the successive shots can be seen in the tweet below.

The Angels certainly brought out the lumber on Sunday as they doused the A’s and secured their first series win of the new season.
But Trout and Ohtani going back-to-back was the true highlight of the game.
Each shot was the first of the year for both sluggers.
Trout has won three AL MVP Awards and is already off to a good start in 2023.
Ohtani won the award in 2021 and finished second behind Aaron Judge in the race last season.
And so, it was the Halos pair of MVP candidates that led the way for the team and carried them to their second victory of the season.
The Angels will continue their road trip on Monday night and open up a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners.
