The Atlanta Falcons were among the first teams in the NFL to fire their head coach after their final game of the 2023 NFL regular season, as the team wasted no time in parting ways with Arthur Smith.

Perhaps the reason for no hesitation in firing Smith was the fact that there were a number of big-name head coaches available on the open market, which was only added to when Bill Belichick and Mike Vrabel became free agents.

Although the team has been linked to Belichick quite a bit since he parted ways with the New England Patriots, the Falcons are doing their homework and have interviewed multiple candidates, some of whom have been interviewed twice, like Belichick and Jim Harbaugh.

According to Jonathan Jones of the NFL on CBS, along with bringing in Belichick and Harbaugh for second interviews, the team is also reportedly bringing in Vrabel for an interview next week.

Vrabel was one of the more surprising head coaches to become available heading into the NFL offseason, as it seemed like he was more of a trade candidate than a coach who would lose his job with the Tennessee Titans.

Apparently, the Titans wanted to head in a different direction, and it may have been a blessing in disguise for Vrabel, with so many intriguing openings around the league.

At this point in time, it’s uncertain what direction the Falcons are leaning with the team bringing in all of these big-name head coaches for interviews, but Atlanta definitely has no shortage of options or interested parties, which bodes well for the team moving forward.
