Despite a subpar 2023 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs have returned to the AFC Championship Game where they’ll take on the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens have been the most consistent and sound team during the year and are playing their best football.

Led by Lamar Jackson, Baltimore has a real chance to advance to Super Bowl LVIII though Kansas City is banking on Patrick Mahomes to carry them to another road win.

Mahomes played in his first road playoff game last week and answered the call, but will be asked to do it again against a much better opponent in the Ravens.

The Chiefs offense hasn’t been nearly the same, but Mahomes is making it work with Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice.

While no one is counting out Mahomes, Mina Kimes believes he’ll have to hit another level if he wants to make another Super Bowl appearance via Around the Horn.

“[Patrick Mahomes] is going to have to have the game of his life to compete with Lamar Jackson,” Kimes said.

Which AFC QB is in the best position to win Sunday? @minakimes goes with Lamar Jackson.

Kimes details how the Ravens’ defense will pose more issues for Mahomes than the Buffalo Bills’ defense did, and she has a point as their defensive line and linebackers are much more potent.

Mahomes has always been good about improvising plays and creating out of structure, but Baltimore has given teams fits with their unique coverages and speed.

The Ravens are considered the favorites to win on Sunday, but Mahomes and company have proven they can overcome odds and pull out tough wins.
