The Baltimore Orioles enjoyed the arrival of a fresh face on Wednesday when highly touted pitching prospect Grayson Rodriguez made his MLB debut against the Texas Rangers.
Rodriguez pitched well, going five innings and allowing just two runs, walking only one batter, striking out five, and allowing four hits.
The Orioles fell short against the Rangers, losing by a final score of 5-2 and heading home with a 3-3 record.
However, Rodriguez pitched admirably and gave the Orioles five solid innings of work.
After his start, MLB analysts Adnan Virk and Harold Reynolds broke down his performance and discussed what the future holds for the young right-hander.
“The @Orioles have a special pitcher in this kid.”

Reynolds praised Rodriguez for his ability to work around an early jam and being able to keep his composure in such a tight spot.
He then broke down Rodriguez’s approach on Wednesday.
The right-hander allowed both of his runs in the first inning and was slightly wild.
However, Reynolds made a key point, that the ability to work his way around the jam is a testament to who he his as a pitcher and what he is made of.
After his first-inning hiccups, Rodriguez settled right back down and showed off his high velocity.
Reynolds closed his statement by saying that the Orioles truly have something special in Rodriguez and that what he showed on Wednesday may be a sign of things to come, praising him for his ability to mix his speeds and execute his pitches in key spots, specifically the first-inning jam he worked his way around.
