It’s no secret that Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels is a once-in-a-generation talent.

Never before has the game seen a player who can pitch and hit so well at the Major League level.

Babe Ruth was the last, but rarely did both at the same time.

Ohtani drew the start for the Halos on Thursday night as they opened up a four-game weekend series against the Seattle Mariners.

He ultimately left his start with hand cramps, but didn’t allow any runs through four innings.

He also belted his 40th home run of the season.

On Twitter, Jon Heyman pointed out this impressive feat Ohtani had accomplished, truly illustrating the greatness of the two-way superstar.

Ohtani hits homer No. 40 in game he threw 4 scoreless innings (but left with hand cramps), was on base every time and was intentionally walked, stole second and scored the tying run.

He’s not only MVP for the season he’s MVP every game he plays.

Ohtani earned American League MVP honors in 2021 and finished second in the voting last year behind Aaron Judge.

This year, he appears to be on track to take home yet another MVP Award.

Heyman stated that he believes Ohtani is not just the clear-cut favorite to win the MVP this year, but that he is essentially an MVP in every game he plays.

Ultimately, given what Ohtani can do on a daily basis, it’s hard to argue with that assessment of the two-way star.

Despite his hand cramps, the right-hander still managed to gut out four scoreless innings, striking out four and walking just one while also allowing only three hits.

And while he was dominating on the mound, he also showed off his power at the plate, further bolstering his case to win yet another MVP Award.
