Major League Baseball may be regaining its popularity.
Over the past few years, attendance at games had been trending in the wrong direction.
However, things appear to be looking up once again.
This year, new rules were put in place to help speed up the game and allow for more excitement.
The shift was banned in order to generate more offense, and a pitch clock was installed to speed up the pace of the game.
As such, it appears that fans are slowly becoming interested in baseball again.
On Twitter, Jon Heyman of MLB Network noted a positive trend in attendance per games this year.

On Tuesday, an average of 32,814 fans showed up to games around the league.
Heyman notes that it was one of the best attendance marks ever for a non-holiday Tuesday.
This can only mean good things for baseball.
For years, interest in baseball had been declining and the game had taken a back seat to other sports.
But now, things appear to be trending in the right direction once again.
The tensions between the Players Association and the owners certainly played a role in this.
Baseball recently had a lockout after the 2021 season, which was bad news for the sport.
But with more people now attending games, baseball is slowly but surely regaining some of its popularity.
This is good news for baseball, and it could be a direct result of the new rules, which seemingly have made the game more enjoyable than it had been in recent years.
Either way, the game is becoming more popular again.
