Since joining the Colorado Rockies, former National League MVP Kris Bryant has not quite been himself.
His numbers with the Rockies have been a far cry from what he was able to accomplish during his time with the Chicago Cubs.
This season, he his missed a good chunk of time dealing with injuries.
He’s hitting for a .263 average, but has just five home runs and 17 RBI, despite reaching base at a .346 clip.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the veteran third baseman and outfielder is headed back to the injured list.
Nightengale announced the news on Twitter.

The Rockies certainly haven’t been playing well this season.
They have yet to reach the postseason since 2018.
After trading away Nolan Arenado, the Rockies pivoted to Bryant.
But as Nightengale notes, the veteran slugger and former MVP has hit just 10 homers and driven in 31 runs since joining the Rockies on a seven-year, $182 million contract in the spring of 2022.
Bryant earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2015 when he helped the Cubs rise from 89 losses to a clear World Series contender.
The next year, he won the MVP Award and guided the Cubs to their first World Series title since 1908.
He was also a four-time All-Star while playing in the Windy City.
But things have not been the same for the 31-year-old since joining the Rockies, and now he is expected to miss more time with a heel injury.
On a more positive note, Charlie Blackmon has returned from the injured list, but that doesn’t soften the blow of losing Bryant.
