The New York Mets have found themselves in a precarious position after a dreadful first half.
The Mets currently own a record of 45-50 and are 16.5 games back of first place in the NL East.
They’re also seven back in the Wild Card race.
But with the trade deadline approaching, there is one name from the Mets roster that is floating around in rumors.
Outfielder Mark Canha is a player that is garnering some attention on the trade market.
On Twitter, Buster Olney of ESPN reported that other teams have contacted the Mets about his availability, with the Seattle Mariners being one of them.
Other teams have asked the Mets about the availability of Mark Canha, and a possible match might be with the Seattle Mariners. Seattle very familiar with Canha from his years in the AL West, and they pursued him in free agency two winters ago.

Two offseasons ago, the Mariners had their eyes on Canha.
The veteran slugger is certainly familiar with the AL West thanks to his days wearing an Oakland Athletics uniform.
Olney reports that the Mariners were one of the top suitors for him when he was a free agent.
Seattle does have a need for some bats at the deadline and could deal from their glut of starting pitchers to land somebody like Canha.
The Mariners have a couple of promising young arms in Bryce Miller and Bryan Woo.
It is unknown whether or not the Mets will entertain offers for Canha, but with them not very close to contention, it might make sense for them to capitalize on the opportunity to gain some assets in exchange for him.
The Mets have several teams ahead of them in the Wild Card race, despite having won three consecutive games heading into Thursday’s tilt with the Toronto Blue Jays.
