On Friday, the San Francisco Giants made a huge announcement.
The team announced that they had agreed to terms with right-hander Logan Webb on a five-year contract extension.
The 26-year-old emerged as a frontline starter for the Giants in 2021 and started Games 1 and 5 of the NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He won 15 games last year and posted a 2.90 ERA.
This year, he is 0-3 and owns an ERA of 4.76 in his first three starts.
He’s also struck out 22 batters and posted a WHIP of 1.24.
On Twitter, Jeff Passan of ESPN revealed the terms of Webb’s new deal with the Giants.

The right-hander will earn $90 million over the next five years.
The 26-year-old has taken over the role of ace with Carlos Rodon now a member of the New York Yankees.
Webb made his MLB debut in 2019 and emerged as a top starter for the Giants two years later, posting a 3.03 ERA in 27 appearances and 26 starts and winning 11 games.
Fortunately, the Giants have their ace locked up for the next five years and will have a steady presence at the top of their starting rotation.
The Giants won just 81 games last year on the heels of their surprising 107-win campaign back in 2021, missing the postseason and handing their National League West division crown back over to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
But with Webb under contract for the next five seasons, the Giants will have an ace to build around as they piece together their starting rotation.
Webb will start Sunday against the Detroit Tigers.
