The MLB trade deadline has come and gone.

Players can still move to different teams, but not by trade, meaning that trades will not resume until the offseason.

And so, now is a good time to take a look at who did the best work in acquiring talent to bolster their roster or selling off assets to build for the future.

On Thursday, Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman of the New York Post discussed the trade deadline and what certain teams were able to accomplish before 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Heyman discussed who he believed the big winners of this year’s trade deadline were.

On “The Show,” @JonHeyman and I talk deadline winners/losers. We also do a deep dive on what we think about how the Mets and Yankees handled the process.

Heyman listed the Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Miami Marlins, and Los Angeles Angels as the big winners.

Texas added four solid pitchers in Aroldis Chapman, Max Scherzer, Jordan Montgomery, and Chris Stratton.

Houston took note of the fact that the Rangers were making some key moves and made the biggest move of the deadline, re-acquiring Justin Verlander from the New York Mets.

Miami made a few sneaky moves towards the end, adding sluggers Jake Burger and Josh Bell.

The Angels beefed up their roster by adding Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez on the pitching side and acquiring both C.J. Cron and Randal Grichuk from the Colorado Rockies.

Sherman chimed in and talked about how the activity of teams in the AL West has made that division one worth watching.

Texas and Houston are battling it out for the top spot, while the Angels and Seattle Mariners aren’t too far behind.
