We are now three months into the 2023 MLB season.
With plenty of time left in the season, some may argue that it is too early to be looking forward to the postseason.
However, this season has been an interesting one, as several teams who were not expected to contend have found themselves right in the thick of the race.
The trade deadline is fast approaching and soon, trades will shape the postseason landscape.
On Twitter, MLB provided an update on the current state of the postseason picture, revealing who would be in the mix if the regular season came to an end today.

In the American League, the Tampa Bay Rays would hold the top seed, as they own baseball’s best record.
The Texas Rangers would be the second seed and would receive a bye to the ALDS, as would the Rays.
The Minnesota Twins currently lead the AL Central and would be the third seed.
However, they would be locked in the Wild Card round with the Los Angeles Angels, who currently hold the third Wild Card spot, as only the top two division winners receive first-round byes.
The Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees would match up in the 4-5 series.
In the NL, the Atlanta Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks would have the top two seeds, respectively.
The Cincinnati Reds lead the NL Central and would be the third seed, hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Wild Card Series.
The 4-5 matchup would be between the Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants.
There is plenty of time left in the season, but it certainly is interesting to see so many unexpected contenders.
