The Los Angeles Lakers wasted no time when free agency opened and started making moves.

They have signed and re-signed five players so far, acting quickly to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with the best possible supporting cast.

Ahead of the deadline that guaranteed his $10.3 million deal for next season, the Lakers waived big man Mo Bamba.

Now that the free agency is underway, the former lottery pick is reportedly interested in returning to the Lakers, per Jovan Buha of The Athletic, via Hoop Central.

Bamba was expected to have a bigger role on the Lakers, but his fit was questionable at times.

He didn’t see many minutes during his short-lived tenure with the Lakers, barely posting 3.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks in 9 games.

The Lakers have renewed expectations for the 2023-24 NBA season, and they want to bring as much talent as they can.

With the addition of Jaxson Hayes to the team, it might be harder for Bamba to return to the team.

It’ll be interesting to see if Bamba returns to the team and if he has a bigger role.

The Lakers landed Taurean Prince, Gabe Vincent, Cam Reddish, and now Jaxson Hayes while re-signing Rui Hachimura.

They are keen to make another deep playoff run next year and the squad they’re building looks promising.
