Things have never been so bad for the Detroit Pistons.

They faced their 20th straight loss on Monday night, defeated by the Indiana Pacers 131-123.

It is clear that the team is not functioning as it should and they will need to change an awful lot if they wish to turn things around in the future.

Head coach Monty Williams spoke about his struggling team and sounded rather optimistic, according to a quote from NBACentral.

“I think we’re starting to figure out that we can score if we space the floor properly. I’m learning how to use certain guys on the team,” Williams said.

Williams’ learning can’t come soon enough for Pistons fans.

While they are happy to hear optimism from the coach, most of them don’t feel the same way and they have lost nearly all faith in the team.

There are several talented players on the roster, such as Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duran, Isaiah Stewart, Bojan Bogdanovic, and more.

Yet, the team is still losing at a historic rate, which is only more confounding.

There are good stars on the team and they have a smart, talented coach but the Pistons show no signs of turning things around.

Williams knew that getting this team working well was going to take time and Detroit fans definitely have a lot of patience but not one expected things to be this bad.

The good news is that Williams says he is figuring things out, it just remains to be seen how long it’ll take before there is progress.

Next up for the Pistons are the Philadelphia 76ers twice, followed by the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks.

That is not an easy schedule for the worst team in the league.
