The Los Angeles Dodgers are once again playing at an elite level this season.
It seems like every regular season they are one of the best teams in baseball.
No matter who is on their roster they always find ways to win games.
But, there are two Dodgers that stand out among the rest this season.
Those two are Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts.
Both are strong MVP candidates and have carried the Dodgers offensively.
But, the month Betts had in August is one for the record books.
He had one of the best months of his career en route to winning NL Player of the Month.
According to MLB Stats, Betts became the third player since 1900 to have a .450 average with 50 hits and 10 HR in a single month.

What Betts did in August took him from an MVP longshot to being neck and neck with Ronald Acuna Jr.
Betts is two home runs away from his first career 40-homer season.
He leads the NL in slugging percentage, OPS, and OPS+.
Not to mention he is one of the best defensive players in the sport.
Betts has taken over a utility role for the Dodgers.
He has played right field, second base, and shortstop this year.
While he may not end up winning the MVP award, this could end up being the most impressive season of his career.
The Dodgers will be winning the NL West for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons.
But, they have not been extremely successful in the playoffs.
Having Betts playing the best baseball of his career could change their recent postseason misfortune.
