One of the neat things about sports is when coaches and players show their admiration for one another.
While things haven’t always been easy for the New York Jets over the last calendar year, the relationship between star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is as strong as oak.
Hackett recently spoke in front of the New York media about his bond with his quarterback.
“I think the world of him. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met…It’s something that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life,” Hackett stated.
“I think the world of him. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met. Our sense of humor is the same…we’re very lucky to have that. It’s something that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.”

As Hackett noted, his father, Paul Hackett, worked with former Green Bay Packers and current Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy earlier in their coaching careers at the University of Pittsburgh.
McCarthy coached Rodgers for 13 seasons in Green Bay before Matt LaFleur was hired as the new head coach, which also made way for the arrival of a new offensive coordinator by the name of Nathaniel Hackett.
While in Green Bay for three seasons (2019-2021), Hackett helped Rodgers win back-to-back MVPs and turn the Packers’ offense into one of the best in the NFL.
The two were reunited last offseason and are now trying to put together a magical season for the Jets.
If they can rediscover some of that success they had in Green Bay, especially with the defense that Gang Green has, the rest of the league might be in trouble.
But in the end, seeing Hackett’s and Rodgers’ relationship blossom is a great sight because it goes beyond the game.
