Since Wednesday is August 24, there is plenty of news about the late Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers.
That’s because 8/24 is known as Kobe Bryant Day, highlighting the two numbers that he wore while playing in the NBA.
One of the big pieces of news revealed on Wednesday is that NBA 2K24 will feature a new game mode called “Mamba Moments.”
Players will be able to “recreate some of Kobe Bryant’s most iconic games,” according to Legion Hoops.

According to Yahoo, these “moments’ will include “huge individual outings, clutch playoff performances, and major milestones in Bryant’s career.”
Featuring regular season games as well as playoff appearances, “Mamba Moments” will put players in the historic shoes of Bryant.
From Game 4 of the 2001 Western Conference Finals, his three-point blowout against the Seattle Supersonics in 2003, to Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals, there will be plenty of options to choose from.
2K fans will then be able to see if they can play as well as Bryant did in these iconic games.
NBA 2K24 was already a celebration of Bryant even before “Mamba Moments” was announced.
Because of this, 2K24 is more anticipated than many other 2K games in the past.
The game is set to hit shelves on September 8 and will immediately get a lot of attention from fans and NBA stars too.
Although a video game will not be able to truly capture how special Bryant was to Lakers fans, these “Mamba Moments” will be a fun way for people to recognize and remember some of the biggest games of his career.
