After years of undying loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers, NBA superstar Damian Lillard could be on the move this season, with the team potentially on the verge of embracing rebuilding rather than trying to win with the roster as currently constructed.
Although Lillard has been adamant about his desire to stay with the Blazers year after year, he recently admitted that if he were going to get traded, he wouldn’t mind landing with the Brooklyn Nets or the Miami Heat, which has sparked up some conversation about his immediate future.
Along with Lillard, Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards has been equally as loyal to the team that drafted him but could also be on the move this summer.
Kevin Smith of Spotrac wonders what the summer in the NBA will be like with these two star guards potentially heading elsewhere before next season.
Wonder if we’ll get into a bit of a race between Portland and Washington to find trades for their stars. A lot of the same teams and trade packages would be involved for both Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal.
Fascinating to have two aging stars controlling the trade process.

Lillard is, without a doubt, the more intriguing player of the two heading into the summer, as he is a player that could be the missing piece to the championship puzzles for certain contenders or perennial playoff teams.
As for Beal, the veteran guard will be an intriguing addition, but he’s only one year removed from signing a lucrative five-year deal, which many teams likely won’t want to take on for a player that will never be considered a superstar.
It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for both players, as they could make their following teams that much better during the 2023-24 NBA season.
