The Philadelphia 76ers trusted James Harden as the guy that could help them get over the hump, trading for him to put an end to the Ben Simmons saga.
The result was pretty much the same as with Simmons, and in the end, not even his relationship with Daryl Morey was enough to guarantee he would stay.
Fortunately for the Sixers, he doesn’t have that much of a market right now, so he was forced to opt-in on the final year of his contract, so they can now trade him instead of losing him for nothing — although it’s not that Harden cared about that.
With that in mind, reports state that the Los Angeles Clippers are quite interested in his services, which is why Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer (via NBACentral) came up with quite an interesting trade proposal.
Kevin O’Connor’s trade idea:
Clippers receive:
James Harden
P. J Tucker
Sixers receive:
Terance Mann
Norman Powell
Robert Covington
Nicolas Batum

In this scenario, the Clippers would get P.J. Tucker and Harden, while the Sixers receive Terance Mann, Norman Powell, Robert Covington, Nicolas Batum, and a couple of future first-round picks.
Truth be told, the two first-rounders make this offer appealing, even if the spare parts they get in the equation aren’t obviously as good as Harden is.
They could have another small-ball center and pesky defender in Covington to make up for the loss of Tucker, while Powell and Mann have proven to be more than capable of scoring the rock.
Batum is no longer the player he used to be, but he could give them some more depth at the wing.
As for the Clippers, they’d get another aging, injury-prone star with a big paycheck and a history of not doing so well in the playoffs.
