The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t do much of anything at the recent NBA trade deadline, so now fans are looking ahead to the upcoming offseason.
And that offseason could be a very busy one, according to some NBA insiders.
Shams Charania was on “The Pat McAfee Show” and said that the Lakers could aim for the two biggest stars on the Atlanta Hawks.
“The Lakers are in a position where they could go and get Trae Young or Dejounte Murray this offseason,” Charania said.
He noted that the team is going to be “aggressive” because they want to win and, more importantly, they know that LeBron James has a player option this summer.

The Lakers want to build a strong team as soon as possible.
They really want to give James a reason to stick around for the rest of his career and they believe that the inclusion of Young or Murray could do that.
The Lakers are also starting to think ahead about an era without James.
Both Young or Murray would be great fits with Anthony Davis at a time when James is no longer part of the team.
That is surely another big part of the Lakers’ desire to acquire either of them.
Fans were disappointed by how little the Lakers did at the trade deadline but it sounds like the team is going to be much more aggressive when the season comes to an end.
If they decide to sign Young or Murray, will they also be able to move other assets around to get even more talent on the roster?
