The Denver Nuggets won their first NBA championship ever, but that doesn’t mean they’re satisfied.
They steamrolled past the Miami Heat in just five games, but it seems like they could’ve beaten every single team in the league in a seven-game series this season.
And perhaps the most impressive part about this title run is the fact that they’re just getting started, and NBA insider Shams Charania believes they currently have the makings of a dynasty.
“I just really think that the Nuggets have the making of a dynasty… None of this is possible without Nikola Jokic – He’s this modern era Tim Duncan if there ever was one” @ShamsCharania on #Nuggets winning #NBAFinals earning 1st title#bRINGItIn | #RunItBack pic.twitter.com/TrfjcgcZ1S

Charania explained that they already have their four core guys — namely Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., and Aaron Gordon — locked in for the future, praising former GM Tim Connelly for putting that team together.
He also went as far as to call Jokic “the modern era Tim Duncan” by stating that other teams simply don’t know how to game plan against him, adding that their core is still quite young.
Of course, it’s still quite early to talk about a dynasty, and maybe we should pull the brakes before putting Jokic in the same conversation as Duncan — not that he can’t reach or even surpass that level.
But if we take a look around the league and every team’s roster, there’s no denying that no other team is better positioned to become a dynasty than the Nuggets.
They’ll likely lose Bruce Brown in the offseason, but they already have a suitable replacement in Christian Braun, and Mike Malone has once again proved to be one of the best tacticians in the game.
