The Miami Heat beat the odds and made it all the way to the NBA Finals despite barely making the playoffs.
They had more undrafted players than stars, yet they managed to knock down the two best teams in the Eastern Conference and even stole one game from the Denver Nuggets, handing them their only home loss of the postseason.
That’s why they’re expected to be quite aggressive in their pursuit of more talent in the offseason, with NBA insider Shams Charania stating that they’re likely looking to get better at the point guard position.

Charania revealed that the Heat made an offer for Kyrie Irving right before the trade deadline, so he hinted at the possibility of them showing an interest in his services again.
He also believes they could be in the mix for whichever star becomes available, citing that any team would demand a package consisting of at least Tyler Herro and three future first-round picks.
The Heat’s front office reportedly feels like they’re just one piece away from an NBA championship, and they need to add that third star besides Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo to get over the hump once and for all.
They have one of the best coaches in the game, and they’ve developed a winning culture and a gritty team that has made it to at least the Eastern Conference Finals in three out of the past four seasons, so there’s reason to believe they just need that one guy to finally finish the job.
