The Milwaukee Bucks already found a replacement for coach Mike Budenholzer, but they’re far from done in the offseason.

They have to focus on Khris Middleton’s rehab and future, and the first seems to be going quite well, according to Shams Charania.

The NBA insider recently revealed that Middleton had undergone arthroscopic surgery to fix the knee issue that bothered him throughout the whole season, adding that he’s expected to resume basketball operations later this summer.

Charania also talked about Middleton’s $40 million player option for the upcoming season, stating that he’s likely to opt-out.

However, he added that Middleton spent plenty of time meeting with team officials and was heavily involved in their coaching search process, so he doesn’t think he’ll go anywhere.

Former NBA player Chandler Parsons also chimed in on that matter, citing that the Bucks know Middleton was their closer and that they know they cannot afford to lose his shot-making and shot-creation, so he thinks he’s going to opt out to sign another long-term deal to stay with the Bucks.

Parsons, who also knows a thing or two about knee injuries, also said that Middleton’s procedure was a simple one that it would only take him like a month of rehab before he can ramp things up and resume baseball activities, so he should be 100% healthy and ready to go for the upcoming campaign.

The Bucks need him to be at his best if they intend to sign him to another long-term deal, and he’s definitely earned it.
