The NBA offseason is officially underway for the majority of the league, with only the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat left standing in the NBA Finals.

With NBA free agency right around the corner, a lot of movement is expected to happen, with some of the league’s biggest names potentially headed to other teams.

One big-name player that has been mentioned frequently in rumors ahead of free agency is superstar guard Kyrie Irving, who was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks during the regular season.

Even though that trade may ultimately turn out to be a bust, with Irving failing to move the needle for the Mavs and, as a result, the team missed the playoffs, he may not be going anywhere this summer.

According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report via NBA Central, Irving will stay put in Dallas and try to make it work with fellow superstar Luka Doncic.

Although Haynes believes Irving will stay with the Mavericks by signing a new deal with the team this summer, there has been a lot of buzz about him wanting to reunite with LeBron James.

Even James has acknowledged Irving’s desire to reunite with him and wants it to happen, but it seems like a long shot that the Los Angeles Lakers would bring in the veteran point guard at this point.

However, things can change quickly during the NBA offseason, so Irving and James linking up in Los Angeles isn’t out of the realm of possibility, especially if James becomes adamant about wanting it to happen.
