During the NBA offseason, the Golden State Warriors made the bold move to trade guard Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in exchange for veteran point guard Chris Paul.

The trade came out of nowhere and surprised a lot of people because Paul hasn’t had the best relationship with the Warriors and their stars and plays at a different pace than Steve Kerr’s squad is used to playing.

It seemed like an odd fit at first, but Paul has a knack for fitting in wherever he goes in the NBA while helping his new team improve, which he’s done with every team he’s played for thus far.

Initially, the Paul experiment in the Bay Area appeared to be working, even with the team asking him to come off the bench for the first time in his Hall-of-Fame-caliber career.

However, things have taken a turn for the worst recently, with the Warriors amid a three-game losing streak and many of the team’s stars, outside of Stephen Curry, struggling to score consistently.

This has led ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne to believe that Paul needs to be in Golden State’s starting lineup moving forward, via NBA on ESPN.

Shelburne argues that shot creation is the problem for the Warriors right now, with Curry working too hard to make that happen for himself and the rest of the squad.

Paul will help in that department because that is what he does as one of the few traditional point guards left in this league.

It’ll be interesting to see if Kerr considers shaking things up if the team continues to struggle like this.
