The Miami Heat knocked on the door of an NBA championship again.
They’ve made it to the NBA Finals twice since Jimmy Butler arrived, reaching at least the Eastern Conference Finals in three out of four seasons.
It’s evident that they just need another guy who can help them get over the hump and take that minor — but significant — step forward.
With that in mind, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the Heat are likely to be quite aggressive in their pursuit of another talent, citing that they know all Butler cares about is the postseason and winning an NBA championship.

Charania reminded everyone that the Heat made a last-second bid for Kyrie Irving before he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see them re-ignite that interest in the offseason.
He also pointed out Damian Lillard as a potential trade candidate, stating that Lillard has already openly admitted that he would like to play for the Heat if he were to be traded by the Portland Trail Blazers.
Last but not least, Charania mentioned Bradley Beal’s name as another guy who could be available in the offseason and who the Heat could benefit from trading for right now.
Charania stated that the Heat could trade up to three first-round picks during the NBA Draft, with Tyler Herro also being a likely candidate to be shipped out, and they’ll be a team to keep an eye on for the next couple of weeks.
