The Golden State Warriors haven’t been mentioned in many rumors this offseason.
But according to a recent report, the Warriors could make a surprising move.
Chris Paul is reportedly about to be waived by the Phoenix Suns after playing the last three seasons with them.
One of four teams that could be in the race for Paul’s services should he hit free agency are the Warriors.
Adrian Wojnarowski includes them on the list that has the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and New York Knicks.
Adrian Wojnarowski on Chris Paul:
“If Chris Paul’s out there as a free agent this summer, look at the 2 teams in LA, the Clippers & Lakers; the Knicks in New York; the Golden State Warriors” pic.twitter.com/7xAdDASB9k

These three teams make a lot of sense for Paul, who is a pure point guard and can be the floor general for all of them.
As for the Warriors, is unclear why they would like to bring in Paul.
Stephen Curry is their starting point guard and he shares the playmaking duties with Draymond Green.
Green sometimes even has a bigger impact on the team’s flow than Curry.
Perhaps the team is thinking of parting ways with Green this summer, or they want to take some pressure off Curry and Green’s shoulders.
This wouldn’t be a problem for Paul, as he played in a three-guard lineup in Oklahoma City with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dennis Schroder.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Warriors can pull this off.
Paul has $15.8 million guaranteed left on his contract and is set to make $30.8 million in the 2023-24 season.
The Warriors could make this move, but it remains to be seen at what cost it would take to land him.
