The Memphis Grizzlies are viewing Wednesday night’s Game 2 against the Los Angeles Lakers as a must-win.

After losing Game 1 on Sunday, the team doesn’t want to fall to 0-2, especially after having the advantage over seventh-seed Lakers.

But that will be a very tall order if they don’t have Ja Morant.

He is currently tending to a painful hand injury and is questionable for Game 2.

Shams Charania spoke on FanDuel TV about the ambiguity of his status.

“I’m told there are no breaks, no fractures in Ja Morant’s hand. He felt that it was a 10/10 when it comes to pain, so his status is still very much up in the air for Game 2 on Wednesday,” Charania said.

There is no doubt that Morant would be a huge help in the game.

He scored 18 points and 6 rebounds on Sunday before his hand injury made him exit after 30 minutes on the floor.

Morant is one of the most important players on the team but they have shown that they can still win without him.

They could come into the game as the underdogs and end up over-performing and catching the Lakers off-guard.

The Grizzlies and Morant have a difficult decision to make about his status.

What will they do if he is feeling better but not fully healed?

If they put him in the lineup, they run the risk of injuring his hand even more or having Morant play when he is not 100%.

That could ultimately lead to another loss or an even longer absence from the star player.

The Grizzlies have a chance if Morant sits out on Wednesday.

Still, they are eager to hear any sort up update about his hand.
