The NBA All-Star Game may not be the extravaganza it was decades ago, but it is still a big deal as far as the league is concerned.
It may be seen by fans as a glorified pickup basketball game where players don’t care about playing defense, but it is also a chance for the league’s stars to showcase their talent and skills.
This season’s midseason classic will take place in Indianapolis, and the league has announced the 2025 All-Star Game is likely to be held in San Francisco, per Shams Charania.

After decades of playing in Oakland, the Golden State Warriors moved across the San Francisco Bay to Chase Center in 2019.
They spent a couple of seasons stuck in mud as Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry fought serious injuries, but they resurrected their dynasty by winning their fourth NBA title of the Curry era in 2022.
This season, the Warriors have some new hope after losing in the second round of the playoffs after trading for future Hall-of-Fame point guard Chris Paul early in the offseason.
Curry is still seemingly at the peak of his powers, and perhaps with a little bit of luck, he and his team could claim yet another Larry O’Brien Trophy next summer.
The last time the Warriors were the host team for the All-Star Game was in 2000, back when they played at Oakland Arena.
That was the year Vince Carter won the Slam Dunk Contest in memorable fashion, while Tim Duncan and Shaquille O’Neal were named the co-MVPs of the All-Star Game.
