P.J. Washington is currently a restricted free agent tied to the Charlotte Hornets – but is he about to join the Cleveland Cavaliers?
That’s what it sounds like, according to insider Chris Fedor, via NBACentral.
Fedor is reporting that Washington is hoping for a contract of around $20 million and apparently the Cavaliers are keen on the idea of signing him.
Will they be able to make a deal?

The 24-year-old Washington has been with the Hornets since his rookie season four years ago.
Since then, he has built a career average of 12.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on 45% from the floor.
Last season, he became a starting big man for the Hornets.
With some impressive work on the floor, it is no surprise that the Cavaliers see a lot they like in Washington.
However, Fedor also reports that even though Cleveland has shown interest in Washington, there haven’t been any extensive discussions with Charlotte to build a package around him.
Therefore, any move to Cleveland for Washington has a long way to go.
Charlotte likes what they have seen with Washington but have also been reluctant to offer him a long-term deal.
Because of that, Cleveland might not be the last team to take an interest in signing him.
The Hornets are, again, trying to figure out their future and that means they don’t want to commit to a lot as they formulate a game plan.
As for the Cavaliers, they are now trying to fill a big void on their roster.
Ricky Rubio recently announced that he was indefinitely stepping away from basketball to focus on his mental health.
Could Washington be able to pick up the slack left by Rubio?
