The New Orleans Pelicans are all over the NBA news right now, and that’s not much of a surprise.

They’re reportedly looking for ways to climb to the No. 2 or No. 3 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, as they’re quite high on Scoot Henderson.

Needless to say, going from No. 14 to No. 2 would take a major haul, which is why some believe they could even consider parting ways with Zion Williamson.

However, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN doesn’t see that happening now, as Zion’s trade value is at an all-time low after playing just 29 games last season, especially with all the controversies he’s been tangled up in lately.

“I won’t rule anything out … but I would be really, really surprised if Zion Williamson is not on New Orleans’s opening night roster.”@wojespn spoke with @ryenarussillo about the latest he’s hearing regarding Zion and the Pelicans.

In a conversation with Ryen Rusillo of The Ringer, Woj cited that he’s seen crazier things happen and wouldn’t 100% rule it out, but he doesn’t think the Pelicans could get equal value in return for Zion at this moment.

Zion is one of the most unique players in NBA history, and he’s still quite young.

Under normal circumstances, most teams in the league would give most of their assets to get him, especially given he’ll be under contract for years to come.

However, he’s now played in less than 50% of games since he entered the league, and some reports about his eating habits and work ethic have raised even more questions about his future in the NBA.

The Pelicans might have no choice but to try and hold onto him for a little longer, or take less in return to finally turn the page and move on.
