With more than 20 games in the books for the majority of the teams in the NBA, the Eastern Conference is turning out to be stacked, with nine teams in the conference looking talented and motivated to make a playoff push when the time comes.
One of those teams is the New York Knicks, who have played well to start the regular season, with a record of 13-9, but currently, there are five teams ahead of them in the conference standings, which has put pressure on the storied franchise to improve its roster.
Apparently, the Knicks could be gearing up for a game-changing trade in order to put the franchise in the championship conversation with the best of the best the NBA has to offer this season.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Knicks may be on the verge of doing something substantial enough to put them in the same breath of the league’s elite, per NBACentral.
“The Knicks have been preparing themselves with draft assets and the development of young players to make the kind of big trade necessary to move into the elite of the Eastern Conference and NBA.”

At this point in time, there’s no telling what that deal may be or what game-changing player or players they may be targeting in order to compete with the best of the best in the NBA from here on out.
As of right now, the only notable players that have been rumored to be on the trade block are Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso, Pascal Siakam, and OG Anunoby.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Knicks brass plans to do and what players the team may be going after ahead of the NBA trade deadline in February.
