The amount of hype around Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is only growing.

After just two games in the NBA Summer League, some fans are convinced that, in time, Wembanyama really could be the unstoppable, league-changing, two-way player that analysts have predicted.

However, at least one analyst isn’t so sure.

NBA icon Tim Hardaway Sr. made his opinion about Wembanyama known on “The Carton Show.”

“That man is going to be an alright basketball player,” Hardaway stated, suggesting that big man Bol Bol is better than Wembanyama will be.

His words immediately received pushback from the rest of the panel but Hardaway stuck to his claim.

Hardaway claims that Bol has better “physical talent” than Wembanyama and is “ready to play in the NBA right now.”

Of course, that’s not entirely fair since Wembanyama hasn’t even played his first regular season game.

Like many rookies, it will take him some time to build his physical prowess and stamina and be able to easily compete against other players in the league.

Despite that, it cannot be denied that the young French star has tons of potential.

In his first Summer League game, Wembanyama looked a little overwhelmed and shaky.

But just days later, he was scoring double-digits and was showing talent on both ends of the court.

Now Spurs fans are imagining what a few more months of training under Gregg Popovich and his staff can do.

Will Wembanyama immediately be the best young player in the league?

Or will it take him some time – even a couple of seasons – to deliver on his potential?

We don’t know yet, but we do know that analysts like Hardaway and others will be closely watching every game he plays.
