Draymond Green isn’t just the heart and soul of the Golden State Warriors; he’s also a future first-ballot Hall of Famer.

But as good a player as he is, he’s also hurting his team with his temper right now.

Green talked his way off the floor last night, leading to an 11-3 run by the Sacramento Kings that doomed the Warriors in a must-win game.

That’s why former NBA player Kenny Smith criticized him after the Warriors’ loss, talking about how a seasoned player like him should stop crossing the line and apologizing for his actions, via NBA on TNT.

Green keeps trying to demonstrate that he’s tough, and no one has ever put his toughness in question.

More than that, he knows the league is constantly trying to make an example out of him, yet he keeps fighting with the referees.

He was coming off a five-game suspension, and the Warriors cannot afford to have him missing any more time.

Green has often been unapologetic and has criticized the fans who call him out for getting into that much trouble.

But perhaps it’s about time the Warriors also start holding him accountable.

He needs to understand that he’s not doing his team any favors with that behavior, and there’s a big difference between being fiery and putting your team in jeopardy.

He’s the best defender on the team and one of their best playmakers, and it’s time he uses his basketball IQ in his favor and stops putting himself in these kinds of situations once and for all.
