It’s been a long time since the Philadelphia 76ers last made it past the second round of the playoffs.

They had a great opportunity last season, as they took homecourt advantage from the Boston Celtics twice.

As per usual, Doc Rivers’ team collapsed under pressure, blowing one huge chance to close out the series at home, and then getting blown out on the road at the TD Garden.

It wasn’t a surprise to see the team part ways with Rivers afterward, although the whole team underperformed when it mattered the most.

That’s why NBA legend Tim Hardaway Sr. recently put them on blast on “The Carton Show,” ripping them for going away from the kind of offense that got them the lead in the first place.

“You had 2 chances to win 1 game. The Sixers choked both games.”

Hardaway stated that the Sixers started playing a lot of iso-heavy offense and failed to get the ball to their best player, saying that they were good enough to beat the Celtics but just crumbled under pressure.

Truth be told, it was hard to make a case for anyone in the Sixers’ locker room after those two epic meltdowns.

They had a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in the bag, and they were a better team than the Miami Heat, at least on paper.

Of course, it would be tough to beat the Denver Nuggets in a hypothetical trip to the NBA Finals, but Joel Embiid had already dominated Nikola Jokic in their latest matchup, so they could’ve at least had a chance.
