One of the more intriguing things to pay attention to each season in the NBA is which young teams are on the rise.
When it comes to teams like that, people are looking at the Oklahoma City Thunder, Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
But there is another young team supposedly on the rise that Hall of Famers Kevin Durant and Paul Pierce like — the Detroit Pistons, per Showtime Basketball.

The Pistons are just 2-7 so far this season, which is the worst record in the Eastern Conference, yet they have some interesting players with potential down the road.
Guard Cade Cunningham, who is now in his third year, is looking to take the next step forward after two somewhat disappointing seasons to start his NBA career.
The former No. 1 overall draft pick is averaging 24.0 points and 7.1 assists a game, although he’s shooting just 41.7 percent from the field.
Center Jalen Duren is someone whom Garnett and Pierce both like — he’s averaging 13.9 points and 11.6 rebounds a game to start his second season.
Guard Jaden Ivey has potential as a sharpshooter, and rookie Ausar Thompson has the ability to become a tremendous defender.
Detroit hasn’t been able to enjoy the services of Bojan Bogdanovic yet, as he has been sidelined with a right calf strain.
As Garnett and Pierce alluded to, the Pistons’ real potential is likely three to five years down the road, but they have a number of players who were high draft picks, and if they all pan out, the Pistons could be a real good team in the future.
