The San Antonio Spurs might not come close to the playoffs this season, but their future is still bright.
That is because the team has several promising young stars and perhaps none are more promising than Victor Wembanyama.
The rookie sensation has been producing some amazing numbers so far in 2023-24.
He has averaged 19.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks this season.
StatMuse pointed out the amazing fact that no player has averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a season since Shaquille O’Neal in 2000.
His numbers are as good as O’Neal’s, but will his career be as impressive?

Wembanyama has received a ton of attention for years now, with many people calling him a generational talent and the sort of star who could not only transform his team but the entire league as well.
However, everyone agreed that his first season would present plenty of challenges for the Spurs.
They only got access to the number one pick in the draft because they were so bad, and they are still performing poorly.
They have a 5-30 record, making them the worst team in the Western Conference.
But even though fans have accepted the fact that the Spurs won’t be in the playoffs this season, they are still enjoying many games because they are witnessing the arrival and growth of Wembanyama.
The 7-foot-4 big man has been a defensive monster, leading the league with blocks per game.
He has also been tweaking and enhancing his offensive game too and has created some incredible plays, including a few strong dunks, layups, and even multiple three-pointers.
Wembanyama has undoubtedly had a great rookie season and the most incredible thing about it is that he still has room for a lot of growth.
